Mashup screensaver gets last New York Times online news through it's new Newswire API and illustrates them with current relevant crowd-sourced Flickr photos in real-time.
Thus visualization fetches and compares both edited and community produced media content for latest events/news. Flickr part is more meditative than real-time of course. And, yes, sometimes it's quite a badass photo editor.
Before going real-time visualization plays time-lapse of previous headlines. It's possible to track news for a topic you’re interested in or just track current news in real-time. Graphics represents which topics were covered in given time frame and the timeline of their appearance.
